Simon Camaj leads two of Mercer’s key specialty practices with over 250 resources focused on developing and driving solutions to help employers offer more effective and strategic Life, Absence and Disability (LAD) and Voluntary Benefits programs. He is also responsible for Mercer’s LAD and Voluntary Centers of Excellence, which were formed to improve efficiency and gain better purchasing leverage.

Over the course of his career, Simon has developed extensive industry and product knowledge as well as business-to-business and consumer insights. He has more than 20 years of industry experience in absence management, operations, account service delivery and distribution leadership. Prior to joining Mercer, he led a team of sales professionals focused on growing Aetna’s National Accounts Group Insurance. Simon lives in the Chicago area and has completed nine marathons (and counting) for two charities: Cancer-Free KIDS and The Children’s Tumor Foundation.

Tim Dugan is the Senior Director of Global HR Benefits at Sykes Enterprises, Incorporated. SYKES is an American multinational business process outsourcing provider headquartered in Tampa, Florida, with 56,000 employees globally. A pioneer in exceptional customer care and support, SYKES is a leading provider of multichannel demand generation and customer engagement services for Global 2000 companies. 

In North America, with a population of over 14,000 employees, Tim is responsible for all health and welfare programs, from plan design through day-to-day administrative oversight. Prior to joining SYKES, Tim worked in HR benefits roles with organizations such as The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Aon & WellCare Health Plans.

Assistant Vice President of Unum Solutions

Ellen McCann has expertise in leave management, specifically the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). As Assistant Vice President, Unum Solutions, she combines more than 30 years of employment law experience with practical knowledge of the complexities of leave and accommodation management to create solutions that help employers manage the complex leave process. Currently, she supports Total Leave, Unum’s digital leave management solution, and Unum Vaccine Verifier, a simple, secure way to verify vaccination status, manage exemptions and manage COVID testing compliance.

Previously, Ellen worked in the Employment Law Group, providing support to Unum’s Absence Management Center and advised Human Resources on employment-related legal issues for more than 20 years. She worked at Davis, Malm & D’Agostine law firm in Boston prior to joining Unum. She is also a certified trainer for the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
