Simon Camaj
Simon Camaj leads two of Mercer’s key specialty practices with over 250 resources focused on developing and driving solutions to help employers offer more effective and strategic Life, Absence and Disability (LAD) and Voluntary Benefits programs. He is also responsible for Mercer’s LAD and Voluntary Centers of Excellence, which were formed to improve efficiency and gain better purchasing leverage.
Over the course of his career, Simon has developed extensive industry and product knowledge as well as business-to-business and consumer insights. He has more than 20 years of industry experience in absence management, operations, account service delivery and distribution leadership. Prior to joining Mercer, he led a team of sales professionals focused on growing Aetna’s National Accounts Group Insurance. Simon lives in the Chicago area and has completed nine marathons (and counting) for two charities: Cancer-Free KIDS and The Children’s Tumor Foundation.
Tim Dugan
Tim Dugan is the Senior Director of Global HR Benefits at Sykes Enterprises, Incorporated. SYKES is an American multinational business process outsourcing provider headquartered in Tampa, Florida, with 56,000 employees globally. A pioneer in exceptional customer care and support, SYKES is a leading provider of multichannel demand generation and customer engagement services for Global 2000 companies.
In North America, with a population of over 14,000 employees, Tim is responsible for all health and welfare programs, from plan design through day-to-day administrative oversight. Prior to joining SYKES, Tim worked in HR benefits roles with organizations such as The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Aon & WellCare Health Plans.
Ellen McCann
Assistant Vice President, Legal Counsel, Unum's Employment Law Group
Ellen McCann is an acclaimed national speaker on leave management issues, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). She is also a certified trainer for the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and continuing education (CE) credit. As Assistant Vice President, Legal Counsel for Unum’s Employment Law Group, Ellen advises Human Resources on all employment-related legal issues. She also provides legal support to Unum’s Absence Management Center, which provides leave administration services to its customers. Presently, Unum’s leave administration product includes administration of close to 200 state leave laws in addition to FMLA and covers close to 3 million lives. Ellen has been employed by Unum for 23 years and worked for a law firm in Boston for seven years prior to joining Unum.
Angel Bennett
Angel Bennett is AVP, Paid Leave and ADA, within Unum’s Absence Management Center. Angel has been with Unum since 2003 and has held many roles. One of the responsibilities of her current role includes working with employers to assist with the development and administration of Paid Family Leaves — so she is bringing some great expertise on that to this discussion today.
