Commonly asked questions about Unum Accident Insurance

How much does Accident Insurance pay?

The amount of benefits your employees receive depends on the type of injury and the required treatment as determined by a physician. There is no lifetime annual maximum payout.

How can they use the money?

The payments are made directly to your employees, so they can use the money however they need, whether it’s to cover co-pays, deductibles or personal bills and expenses that their medical plan doesn’t cover.

Are my employees guaranteed coverage?

Eligible employees are guaranteed to receive the base plan coverage without answering any health questions or undergoing a physical exam. However, health questions may be required for certain employer-elected options.

Should I offer my employees individual or group policies?

It depends on your business. In general, small businesses prefer individual policies because they are owned by the employee and have long-term guarantees. Group policies are generally better for larger companies that have offices in several states because they provide more flexibility.
