What to expect during the Unum Total Leave process

1. Before taking leave

Prepare for a smooth leave experience. Here's what you need to know:
  • Employees log into Total Leave to initiate the leave request process.
  • HR is automatically alerted of the new leave request.
  • Employees submit all required information for review by Total Leave specialists.
  • Eligible leave requests and claims are approved, and notifications are sent to both the employee and HR.

2. During leave

Stay informed and connected throughout the leave period. Here's how it works:

  • Total Leave specialists closely monitor the case and ensure a smooth transition back to work.
  • Employees can easily check the status of their claims, review payments and update their return-to-work date.
  • Employees have the option to talk to a leave specialist for any assistance they may need.
  • Managers have access to leave approvals, employee communications, and information on eligibility and remaining leave time.

3. After taking leave

Ensure a successful return to work. Here's what happens next:

  • Employees can access Total Leave to review their leave history, view payment records, and find additional resources.
  • HR can focus on serving their employees, confident of their compliance and prepared for any future leaves.
