Recruiting and hiring approach

If you’ve applied or plan to apply for a role with Unum, the company’s talent acquisition team will work with you directly throughout the process. We will use email, phone and video conference to interact with you, and in most cases, an internet connection is all that is needed to participate.

Tips for phone interviews:

  • Find a quiet spot where you won’t be interrupted.

  • Make sure you have stable internet or phone connection.

  • Ask thoughtful questions.

  • Relax and be yourself.

Tips for video interviews:

  • Ensure the area is well lit.

  • Dress like you would for an in-person interview.

  • Use headphones with a built-in microphone to ensure the interviewer can hear you.

  • Maintain good eye contact and body language.

If you do not have video capabilities through your computer, smartphone, or tablet, please tell your talent acquisition consultant so they can tailor the interview process accordingly.
