ACLI study shows public savings from private insurance

In March, the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) released a study to evaluate whether private life insurance products—such as annuities, disability insurance, and long-term care insurance— reduce fiscal pressures on Social Security and Medicaid. Drawing on data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Social Security Administration (SSA), the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), and industry research, the study quantifies the potential savings to these government programs, highlighting how private insurance solutions enhance financial security for individuals while easing the burden on public resources.
