Employers look to their benefits partners for answers to questions on everything from health care reform to the role of voluntary benefits. That means providers, brokers and consultants need to be out front offering answers and, most important, solutions. At Unum, every investment we make in products, service, technology, and communication is driven by our understanding of what benefits partners, clients and consumers need in today’s changing marketplace. Simplified solutions that help employees understand, and take advantage of, the essential value of financial protection benefits. Clear guidance to make smart benefits decisions easier. Connections to enrollment technology that meets clients where they need us. This newsletter touches on the investments we’re making for you. We continue to expand and simplify our product offerings, improve our claims and absence reporting and enhance client service. For our larger clients, we’re strengthening our analytics and technology in support of strong benefits education and enrollment. A crucial element of our mission at Unum is to be a source of information and expertise to both employer clients and brokers. These days, that includes benefits expertise that extends beyond our offering portfolio to the broader benefits landscape. A new tool on our health care reform website will help you evaluate requirements under the Affordable Care Act. In addition, we continue to add white papers, podcasts and news updates to this website to clearly explain the elements of reform. We aren’t a health benefits provider, but as a source of benefits expertise, we embrace the consultative role we play in helping our partners navigate this important issue. We have a lot on our plates these days, because you have a lot on yours. All this work is essential in an environment where benefits providers and brokers are in an incredible position to make a difference. The more resources we can all dedicate to helping our clients stay ahead of the curve, the better. Our commitments to protecting consumers, strengthening our relationships with our clients and working together to make it easier to do business with us drive our decisions and define us as a true benefits partner.
