Join Unum, industry experts at Critical Illness Forum
Come hear experts from Unum as they present at this year’s 2013 NACII Critical Illness Insurance Forum, Sept. 16-18, in Fort Lauderdale. The lineup of presenters includes Debbie Cecil, director of voluntary benefits; Pieter Williams, assistant vice president of government affairs; Tamra VanAllen, a director in finance; and Kellie Logan, manager of voluntary benefit claims operations.
As program chair for this event, Cecil and the NACII team have created a forum that highlights two anniversaries as part of the program: the 30th anniversary of the issuance of the first critical illness (CI) policy and the 10th anniversary of NACII.
The learning sessions, all picking up a theme from popular movies, follow CI's evolution into one of the most important products in the supplemental health insurance portfolio, particularly in light of health care reform.
Cecil will be participating in two sessions:
- As a speaker in a panel discussion titled "It's a 'Risky Business' — Genesis and Spread of Critical Illness Insurance"; and
- As the moderator of a conversation about critical illness claims.
Williams will be one of two presenters in a session titled "The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and Critical Illness Insurance — Are You Waiting for a 'Message in Bottle'?"
VanAllen talks numbers in the session "Die Hard' Pricing: The Known and Unknown."
Logan discusses CI claims practices in a session that spans "Dr. No" to "It's a Wonderful Life".
