Unum is proud to be part of Mercer’s new private exchange and offers an array of products through the platform. These products include employee- and employer-paid group Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability, and Life and AD&D — as well as group voluntary Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness and Accident to complement your client’s medical coverage.
UnitedHealthcare and Unum have developed an effective identification and referral process that can provide targeted health guidance and coaching to employees with "high impact" conditions. When employees learn to better manage chronic conditions, they may adopt healthier lifestyles, recover faster from disability and decrease their medical costs.
The UnitedHealthcare-Unum Referral program covers more than 300,000 employees, including current Mercer customers such as Whole Foods, CBS and CBS Outdoors. This service is helping business get greater value out of their health management programs and services.

Unum's group life and disability administrative management services can support your client's in-house benefits manager — or complement services provided by an outsourced vendor — by providing a range of resources at no cost for our mutual new client with more than 1,000 lives. Unum's comparative reporting & analysis provides access to a powerful web tool that helps measure, monitor and manage employee absences — and for Mercer, it may be offered at no cost to new clients with more than 1,000 lives. Mercer has a unique co-branded portal available for clients to access their data. Unum also has developed a guide for Mercer to help interpret and utilize reports for all clients 500-1,000 lives. An updated, enhanced version of our reporting services will be available in the second quarter of 2014.
Unum works closely with Mercer Voluntary Benefits Urbandale and Atlanta to provide products, enrollment, implementation, claims and administrative services for Mercer. Unum has customized a unique distribution process that is dedicated to Mercer. Unum is also in the process expanding our system links with Mercer EZEnroll to better serve mutual clients.
