Unum dental insurance offers better benefit experience

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Oct. 7, 2020) – An enhanced dental offering from Unum (NYSE: UNM) includes expanded coverage for employees, more plan flexibility for companies, and a better administrative experience for benefits administrators.

Standard plan provisions cover commonly requested benefits, including posterior composite restorations; broader coverage for implants, missing teeth, and porcelain crowns; and flexibility for periodontal maintenance. Employers can also choose optional benefits for their workers, such as occlusal guard coverage for teeth grinding and clenching, cone beam coverage for specialized imaging, and treatment for temporomandibular joint (TMJ).

“Dental insurance is a crucial part of a comprehensive benefits package that contributes to employees’ overall wellbeing,” said Matt Purington, assistant vice president of Product and Market Development at Unum. “Unum’s dental offering provides highly customizable plan options, a large national provider network, user-friendly online services and simple administration.”

Through dedicated online portals, employers can quickly access bills, pay online, and print ID cards for employees. Covered employees can search for in-network providers, print ID cards, view claims, and review plan information.
