Account Implementation

Smooth implementation of new benefit plans or programs is essential to the long-term success of not only the program itself, but also of the relationship between you and your benefit provider. Unum's implementation teams are structured to provide the expertise, centralized support, and information needed for a well-planned and smoothly executed plan start-up. Implementation team members are chosen for their experience in employee benefits, underwriting, sales, service, law, management, brokerage, systems and consulting. Implementation managers work with you to craft a customized plan for implementing benefit programs according to your unique needs, assuring that:

  • Plan design and rates are aligned to expectations
  • Enrollment plans are appropriately planned and executed
  • Administrative and claim management processes are reviewed
  • Negotiated plan or program enhancements or customizations are identified and implemented

Enrollment Services and Support
 

If your benefit plan will contain voluntary components, Unum provides a full range of enrollment services, supporting enrollment strategies and needs ranging from paper to telephonic to the web. In total, these services are designed to facilitate your employees informed benefit purchase decision, and can include communication programs that help them better understand the dollar value of their total benefit program that additional hidden paycheck that includes all health-related insurance, retirement, paid leave programs, etc.

Account Management

  • You are teamed with an account manager whose background and expertise are aligned as closely as possible with your business and your benefit needs. This experienced professional has overall responsibility for all service and administrative aspects of your experience with us. Additionally, a dedicated claims unit contact will work with your account manager to make sure we deliver claims service to you and your employees smoothly and seamlessly.
  • Your account manager assembles a dedicated team to design a plan of support services customized for your existing benefit programs and recruitment and retention needs, and which contains elements that have been proven successful within your industry. Once you review the plan, we make adjustments as needed and begin to implement the agreed-upon product, technology and claims management tools.
  • Your account manager provides ongoing plan evaluation and recommendations, and is committed to being proactive as well as responsive in helping you leverage your benefits programs.
