What prospective employees want in a workplace and whether companies are prepared to deliver as they recruit talent are revealed in a survey
in collaboration with Unum.
When they're on the job hunt, people prioritize finding a caring company, fulfilling work and better benefits over dollars and cents, according to the survey. Eighty-seven percent of those surveyed said finding a company that truly cares about the well-being of employees is very important.
Coming in lower in the ratings, a high base salary was very important to only about 66 percent, and bonuses were very important to a little more than half of those surveyed.
The survey also showed a strong connection between a caring environment and financial protection beyond the paycheck:
