Originally a ranch owned by a wealthy Hispanic family, the area traces its history back more than 200 years and was governed then by Spain. Things have certainly changed since that time with millions moving into Southern California and the nation's second-largest city just next door. In the midst of it all, residents have managed to build a vibrant and modern Glendale while managing to retain its historic, small town feel and natural beauty.
